Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf’s Red Velvet Hot Cocoa Is Back

I am just happy that this is back! I started to like this the first time I tried it when we first visited CBTL’s newly opened and first branch then here in Abreeza Mall in Davao City.

I loved it since and when we get to visit CBTL during the holidays, I would almost always order this. It’s a fave of mine! So when they took it out after the holidays, I was kind of sad and somehow stopped visiting CBTL.

Now it is back! I have a reason to go back to CBTL when the budget allows me to. You can say this is one of the treat I give myself in lieu of other sacrifices I make.

According to my friend, they plan to start a small business since they have somehow been able to save more since they have been working abroad with her husband for more than three years already. She had been encouraging me to venture into my own business as well. If ever I would go into business, it would probably have something to do with food. But since I heard in the news on TV about feng shui in the year of the dragon, it was said that going into a restaurant business this year is not recommended. Hopefully this is not true for I don’t want this to discourage those who are pursuing a restaurant business this 2012. But as for my friend, they are determined to pursue their business this year with the help of a few friends over there in UK. It was a fun yet short business talk over coffee. At the end it left me thinking why not indeed. Who knows one day I’ll be thinking of starting a small business of our own as long as we have the right knowledge and proper funding for capital.

We were lucky we went to SB for coffee while waiting for my friend who we were to meet there for a short meet-up. She was somewhere in the mall that time doing some last minute Christmas shopping and looking for leather briefcases which at first I thought would be a gift to her dad but as it turns out she needed one to bring and use for her official trips as part of her field work since her work requires her to travel and do some inspections several times in a month. A briefcase I once saw while doing some online window shopping would be great for her to use with her field work with a lot of documents she had to bring along just in case she could not find one what she wanted anywhere within the mall.

Well actually in order to claim this free drink, I had to visit a Starbucks site and answer their online survey. It was just an easy survey. After I answered that, we were able to claim the free coffee yesterday which is exactly New Year’s day. I hope this would become like a tradition whole year long that we do get a free coffee drink from Starbucks! Lucky are we if that would actually come true!

Anyway, we only got a tall size free drink but the barista at the register told us that we can upgrade to venti size by just paying P30. I went for it thinking it’s like having my fave Starbucks hot peppermint mocha in venti size for just 30 bucks. That’s a great new year’s treat already. Hubby and I can share with it since I cannot have too much coffee anymore after all those coffee I had to drink over the holidays after getting my Starbucks and The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf 2012 planners. Speaking of my Starbucks planner, I claimed it also yesterday and it’s like another new year’s gift for myself. I have to thank two friends way back in college and their hubbies (these couples are vacationing from Singapore and Nigeria) for giving me four stickers when I met them by surprise at Starbucks a night before Christmas eve. That saved me four drinks… thank you my friends!

Yesterday hubby and I are simply grateful for this holiday treat! Thank you Starbucks! We surely want to win another complimentary Starbucks beverage again soon!

Did you know that today, September 29 is what they call National Coffee Day 2011? There are free coffee given away in some stores and coffee shops, coupons, great deals, online specials and gift ideas.

Heading out to the nearest computer store to check out some laserjet toner cartridges with dear hubby before he goes to work today, we passed by one of our fave coffee shops in town. I don’t think they had free coffee being given out. Though I wish they are giving away tiny cups of this creme brulee macchiato for free taste test to all interested customers  in the coffee shop who’d like to taste it.

So how was your national coffee day celebration? Did you get any free coffee today?

I remember we were here way back then to meet a friend of mine to help us find some medical stuff plus this medical step stool in economy finish for my dear sister. My friend hangs here a lot especially during Friday night then that is why we took the chance then to visit this coffee shop for the first time then. He used to work for a medical supply company that’s why I know he can help us then with what we were looking for.

I brought him to the coffee shop that hubby and I went to a few days ago. I let him try the Durian Freeze from Bo’s Abreeza branch.

This is what it looks like. Looks like a milk shake to me. Though for sure it does taste like durian. Hubby said when he first tried it a few days ago, that he might fell sleepy at the office for duty later that day because of the durian. Well I think it was true. But for my cousin it was different, he felt very alert after and he said he needs this kind of coffee drink when he works night shift in his work. But for me this is a nice treat after shopping, even if only window shopping for me at this time with my cousin.

Tired from that shopping,  hubby and I went to have some coffee and though we almost went to Bo’s where we have not visited yet, we ended up where else but in Starbucks.

Do you like their coffee? I personally think our Davao coffee could really compete with the taste and even do way better. Would they venture and make some coffee with durian? Well that would be something to look forward to.

Starbucks Abreeza Ayala Mall Davao Brewing Soon

I am sure a lot of you are excited to finally have our own Starbucks here in Davao City at the ground floor of Abreeza Ayala Mall Davao City. If I am not mistaken, Starbucks is located at the left side of the main entrance of the new mall to open soon. And we’re so near this place!

Abreeza Mall Davao is said to open next week on May 12, 2011. See you there!

Coffeecat and Coffeefornication Fave Blended Coffee | Yellow Hauz Davao

We just walked our way there since hubby said it is just one block away. Okay we miscalculated and the walk made us crave for cold or blended coffee instead. We decide to try something from their choices of favorite blended coffee with interesting and familiar names of places here in the city. We got intrigued with the nameCoffeecat (which happens to be a name of another popular coffee shop here in Davao). I just wonder if they named this coffee such even before that other shop opened. But they probably got the name from copy cat. Including the coffeeteria from cafeteria.

These two blended coffee tastes sweet and good. Hubby and I loved it while we stayed for awhile spending some quality time by ourselves on our date night without our little one. Their wifi is good too! I love the homey feel of YH. Hope we can come back again and I like it that there are not too many people and it isn’t as crowded. A relaxing place to spend a few hours talking with hubby over cold coffee drinks on that rainy night.

We met Ms. Gel this morning at Robinson’s Cybergate as we were about to start doing our grocery. We were in a hurry actually so after we were done at the supermarket, we had to go home immediately. But seeing her once again after quite sometime made me miss my fave A whole LATTE Love’s Spaghetti Carbonara.? Yes I have to say up to this day it has been my fave when I talk about pasta dishes here in Davao. Right now while I am thinking of what to have for dinner, I thought about this and how I missed it. Hopefully the next time we get to be at Robinson’s then maybe we could drop by and have a taste once again of this delicious spaghetti carbonara.
